Our vision is to be a global force for good in Quantum Tech and support humanity's transition into the quantum era in an inclusive way, enabling everyone to contribute, grow and make a positive impact.
Our mission it to accomplish this by providing a global community with local chapters, professional mentoring, career opportunities and quantum tech skills.

Value statement

A highly engaged global community organized into chapters with local mentoring, career opportunities & skill development.
  • Local Chapters: Chapters run by local volunteer presidents with resources, networking, events and projects by and for the members
  • Mentoring: A formal program with Keysight Technologies on soft-skills around how to identify a career in quantum, best apply for jobs, be successful in a workplace, etc
  • Career Fairs: Employer Partners, a resume database, job posting page and career fairs to bring those who hire and those who dream together around the same opportunities in quantum tech
  • Skill development: Through educational projects and actual quantum tech projects that make a local impact

 

Our code of conduct

Every representative, member, sponsor, speaker or supporter of OneQuantum pledges that in the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as contributors and maintainers pledge to make participation in our project and our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.

No harrasment

Zero tolerance for harassment: Harassment includes, but is not limited to verbal comments that reinforce social structures of domination related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age, religion.

No discrimination

Leadership

André M. König

Founder, Chairman & President

André is the Publisher and Chief Editor of the leading Quantum Tech business magazine. He is a guest author in a bestselling book on digital transformation and new technologies, and is currently writing a book on investing in DeepTech.

As a speaker and expert he has been featured in the New York Times, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, Popular Science, live TV and stages from Las Vegas to Seoul with up to 40,000 in the audience.

He is the CEO of Interference Advisors, the leading data provider & advisory firm on Quantum Tech. And the CEO of Entanglement Capital, an investment fund into Quantum Tech.

With 25 years of business experience, André has been a strategy and technology consultant to many Fortune 500 CEOs in both Europe and the USA. As well as to owners and operators of midsized services and manufacturing firms.

He co-founded 3 new technology startups – spanning Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Digital Transformation, NeuroHealth and SaaS – and mentored hundreds of others through General Assembly, the German Accelerator New York and other entrepreneurship programs.

André studied Quantum Computing at MIT and holds a MBA in Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business as well as a Masters in Business from ICN School of Management. He speaks English, German and French, and has competed in national small boat sailing championships.

Denise Ruffner

Founder & President, Women in Quantum

Denise Ruffner is currently VP of Business Development at IonQ, the leading trapped ion quantum computing hardware company.

Before that she was Chief Business Officer at Cambridge Quantum Computing, the leading quantum computing software startup in the industry. She works out of her home in Pasadena, California (Southern California) and until recently traveled almost full time speaking at events about quantum computing and the ecosystem. Denise was an early employee of IBM Quantum where she spearheaded their startup program in 2018, led the worldwide ambassador program and was responsible for strategy for the quantum team. She has a large network around the world – startups, customers, quantum ambassadors, academics.

Prior to joining the IBM Q team, Denise had roles of increasing responsibility at IBM including: worldwide sales leader for Genomics for IBM Power Systems where she signed several partnerships, several complicated OEM agreements and led a growth strategy through a large acquisition; venture investing for IBM Life Sciences where she was responsible for investments in several biotech companies and venture funds; and various sales and sales management roles where she was responsible (and achieved) quotas that exceeded $800M. Denise is a master at relationship building, forging partnerships and connecting people. She won several awards at IBM around innovation, but was most proud when she received the “idea fountain” award to recognize her creativity in problem solving and winning deals.

Denise started her career in sales at Beckman Instruments, a scientific research instrument company, winning awards such as Rookie of the Year, Rep of the Year, Highest Dollar Volume in the World. She worked with emerging companies helping them with their business plans to gain funding and received a tremendous startup business education by working with key biotech companies at their inception including Genentech, Gilead and Incyte. She chaired the Northern California Pharmaceutical Discussion group for 5 years and built it into a large organization with monthly meetings of 100+ people.

Rupesh Srivastava

CEO

Roop (as he is commonly known) is a community builder, leader, trusted advisor and speaker with a range of interests and expertise.

Prior to joining OneQuantum, Roop developed the UK quantum computing ecosystem for 5 years and was based at Oxford University (Physics). During that time Roop pioneered ground-breaking initiatives such as the “Quantum Pathfinder Challenge” for the Space sector, introduced “Quantum Accreditation” (a scheme
to trust the outputs of a quantum computer), authored key reports and articles, managed a multi-million dollar innovation fund, contributed to strategy and policy (even giving a quantum briefing at the House of Commons), oversaw the operation of the Oxford University – IBM Quantum Hub relationship, and championed activities in Responsible Innovation and Diversity & Inclusion.

Roop has also spent 20 years in business – in technology startups and consulting. As a result of his experiences, he founded “Training with Roop”, a company to teach well-being and essential soft skills so organisations and their people can ‘Be better, do better and stay better’.

Roop holds a PhD in Physics and remains ever curious about the universe!
